Gold Bullion was introduced in the Wastelanders update and is the only payment vendors like Regs will accept. Heres how to find the new currency.

When the world is a radioactive wasteland, cash no longer serves much purpose as a currency. Granted bottlecaps dont make a great deal more sense, but they have been the main currency of Fallout, all the way up into Fallout 76.

Theyre not the only form of currency out there, though, and the Wastelanders update even introduced a brand new type for you to grind for. The Gold Bullion puts you back on the gold standard and is the only payment accepted by special some new vendors like Regs. You wont just find these golden bricks sticking out of the dirt, so heres how to get Gold Bullion in Fallout 76.

How To Get Gold Bullion

Before you can even start farming Gold Bullions, you have to fully complete the main campaign included in the Wastelanders update. Once you do, youll get a small amount of this new currency for your efforts, but not nearly enough for everything youll want.

There are only two ways to farm this new item, and both involve trading in other types of currency. However, because you may already be rich in these currencies, the game does put some restrictions on you so you cant just buy up everything at once.

  • The first, and easiest, way to get some Gold Bullion is to trade in your caps.

If you go to The Wayward and find the man named Smiley, he will offer to trade his gold for your caps at rates of:

  • 1,000 caps per 50 Gold Bullion
  • 2,000 per 100
  • 3,000 for 150
  • 4,000 per 200

Note that he will only be able to trade you up to 300 Gold Bullion per week, no matter how many caps you have stored up.

  • The only other option to get more Gold Bullion is to trade in Treasury Notes.

If youre not familiar, Treasury Notes are rewards for doing things like public events and Settler or Raider faction quests. Take these notes out to one of the Gold Press machines in Crater or Foundation and you can transform those notes into Gold Bullion at a rate of one to ten.

Rather than having a weekly limit, converting your Treasury Notes has a daily limit of 200 Gold Bullion. That might seem a little annoying, but if youre logging in each day to do your dailies anyway, just make an extra stop here to convert your notes into some cold hard ... gold.

  • If youre able to maximize both methods, you can get a total of 1,700 Gold Bullion per week.

Even if you dont max out, youll want as much of this currency as possible for the exclusive items it can get you, such as backpack mods, armor, new power armor, heavy weapons, and mods.
