  • Warriors Klay Thompson: Christmas Day return targeted

    Rotowire

Thompson is likely to make his return on Christmas Day against the Suns, Ali Thanawalla of NBC Sports reports.

Thompson wont be ready by the start of the season. The 31-year-old is coming off an Achilles injury that occurred last November. A 13-month recovery time isnt necessarily on the long side for such a serious injury. Plus, Thompson missed all of 2019-20 as well due to a torn ACL, so conditioning is expected to be an issue. While Thompson remained sidelined, more minutes should be available for Otto Porter, Jonathan Kuminga, Andre Iguodala and others.

  • Warriors Chris Chiozza: Joins Golden State

    Rotowire

Chiozza agreed Monday with Golden State on a one-year, two-way deal, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Chiozza spent the past season with Brooklyn, appearing in 22 games and averaging 4.0 points and 3.0 assists in 10.5 minutes per contest. His status as a two-way player means that most of his opportunities in 2021-22 will likely come with the Warriors G League affiliate in Santa Cruz.

  • Warriors Andre Iguodala: Heads back to Golden State

    Rotowire

Iguodala will sign a one-year, minimum contract with the Warriors, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

Iguodala spent the past two seasons with the Heat, where he averaged 4.4 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 20.9 minutes. The days of Iguodala being fantasy-relevant are long gone, but he still provides some real-life value as a high-IQ player and savvy defender. Hell be returning to the Warriors, where he was part of the teams impressive title runs. The 37-year-old will likely continue seeing minutes in the low-20s, and possibly even the high-teens. Golden State is suddenly deep on the wing, with Iguodala needing to compete for minutes with rookies Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody, as well as Otto Porter, Nemanja Bjelica and Juan Toscano-Anderson.
